Who is the typical Bridge student?
The typical Bridge student will be a junior or senior leaving the traditional high school for a variety of reasons:
* Not finishing high school by the end of their senior year.
* Behind in credits that are required by the end of their senior year.
* Returning to school to graduate after dropping out during their junior or senior year.
* Referred to the school by their high school counselor for various reasons.
* Needs a shorter school day because of scheduling conflicts.
* Health issues that require a shorter day.

Who can enroll at the Kootenai Bridge Academy?
Juniors and Seniors ages 16 to 20 can enroll at the Kootenai Bridge Academy. Students who have dropped out of school in their junior or their senior year are encouraged to apply. We also encourage seniors who have not completed all of their credits by the end of their senior year to come back and finish up those credits. Students must complete all credits before their 21st birthday. Admission is free of charge for Idaho residents. .......................................................................................................................
What would my schedule be like?
The school day will consist of one, three-hour block session. The first block is from 8-11a.m., 2nd block from 11-2p.m., 3rd from 2-5 p.m., and the 4th from 5-7:30 p.m. Students will be assigned the most appropriate time block for their needs and availability. Students may also do coursework from a remote location during their shift or when school is not is session at night or on the weekends and holidays.

School will be held Monday through Thursday with makeup time on Fridays from 8-11a.m. They must prearrange additional time, with the exception of Friday, when all are welcome. Students will also be required to do at least two elective classes outside of the classroom per semester. We offer a variety of take-home packets that a student can sign up for. Students can also receive work credit for 150 hours of work or volunteer credit for 70 hours of volunteer work. Each student is required to seek employment as part of their school day. Every senior will complete a "Senior Summit" .

What are the student expectations?
A student who attends must be able to work on their own, at a computer, for three hours a day. Most students who attend are very motivated to get their credits finished and graduate. Students need to have skills to read and comprehend high school subject matter. Students create goals with the staff to determine the amount of time expected before they will graduate. All core classes are done on the Nova Net curriculum. Electives are done through work and packets.

The Senior summit is designed to help students make adult decisions affecting post-graduation training and education.

How long does it take to finish a course?
Most students finish a class in approximately one month. Students can work faster if they attend Friday sessions. .........................................................................................................................
Will anyone be there to assist me?
We have four teachers and two teacher assistants to provide help. There are 32 computer terminals in our building. Students are highly encouraged to regularly attend to take advantage of Staff expertise. .........................................................................................................................
